Virginia-based educator, composer, and performer Marcus S. Grant is the Founder of Enlightened Productions, the Composer/Arranger In Residence with The Brass Roots, contributing composer with Concentus Trumpet Ensemble, and an active freelance trumpeter and clinician. He has been involved as a public relations and administrative assistant of the Greater Richmond Youth Wind Ensemble, a Composer in Residence in central Virginia, and Private Lessons Instructor of all brass instruments, and has made appearances (both as a contributing composer and performer) at the National Trumpet Competition, the International Trumpet Guild Conference, the Grand Valley State International Trumpet Seminar, and the Fredericksburg Brass Institute.

 

As a composer, his award-winning compositions have been featured in concerts, workshops, and competitions in the United States, Spain, Germany, France, and Portugal. As an educator, his students have held positions in the All-Virginia Symphonic and Concert Bands, as well as multiple honor bands across the state of Virginia. As a performer, Marcus has made multiple appearences in the National Trumpet Competition Ensemble Division and the International Trumpet Guild prelude series, and has competed in the National Trumpet Competition Graduate Solo Division as a semifinalist.
