Mr. Jesse Stevens, a young composer and inspiring teacher, is originally from Prattville, Alabama where he attended Prattville High School.


In high school, Mr. Stevens was a member of the "Pride of Prattville" Marching Band and was section leader for two years. He also participated in both concert ensembles which have achieved 'Superior Ratings' at District and State Band Assessments. He was also involved in the competitive indoor percussion ensemble which has achieved 1st place since their inaugural season in 2010. Mr. Stevens also involved himself in Solo and Ensemble Contests as well as making the top ensemble in the Alabama All-State Band Festival.

 

Since high school, Mr. Stevens has been pursuing his bachelor's degree in music education with a concentration in instrumental music at Jacksonville State University. While pursuing his degree, he has been a member of the internationally known "Marching Southerners" where he has been in the front ensemble for 3 years playing marimba.

 

During his collegiate studies, Mr. Stevens participated in Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps that competes in Drum Corps International competitions all over the United States. During Mr. Stevens's tenure, Spirit of Atlanta was ranked one of the top 12 world class corps at DCI Finals. While in Spirit of Atlanta, Mr. Stevens watched and learned from the activities' best instructors in their field from visual to music for both hornline and percussion.


Mr. Stevens is an active composer and arranger that has arranged for ensembles such as Prattville High School Percussion, University of Central Florida Symphonic Band for the Kappa Kappa Psi Southeast District Convention, and currently arranges and is the front ensemble coordinator for Sonoraville High School Marching Band. Mr. Stevens is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi - National Honorary Band Fraternity, the National Association for Music Educators, and the Percussive Arts Society.
