Isaiah Castro is an American composer, studying music composition at Cal State Fullerton’s School of Music, under the teachings of Ken Walicki. His love for music began at the age of 10 with piano and various brass instruments, later inspiring him to compose music for the first time in middle school. Presently, he plays the bass trombone and euphonium at Cal State Fullerton, where he studies with Michael Hoffman and Phil Keen. He has experimented with his compositional style by writing various works for full sized orchestras and other different ensembles, finding his preference in writing for film scores. His recent accomplishment features the scoring for the independent film, “Amnesia”, written and directed by Armando Barrios. Concurrently, Castro enjoys his work as resident composer, arranger, and conductor of music for the Cal State Fullerton Trombone Choir.
